The Spanish company Walcon Virtual Events and its technological partner Virtway Events offer Fira Barcelona the possibility of having a 3D environment, so the companies that had confirmed their participation at Mobile World Congress, but withdrew from it afterwards due to coronavirus risk, can participate virtually. The virtual trade show would be accessible to all visitors using a computer or Android/iOS devices.

Walcon Virtual is a start-up specialized in the organization of 100% virtual events, promoter of the energy industry trade shows Effie Virtual Congress. Walcon has a staff that could provide technical support to Mobile World Congress during the days of the event and the virtual environment would be held at the same time as the physical trade show.

Walcon uses a technology designed by Virtway that recreates all the features of a physical trade show. They can offer a virtual auditorium for the conferences that were going to be held by these companies, and a hall so they could exhibit their products in virtual stands. In this way, the participating companies could assist attendees from all countries around the world using avatars, interacting each other simply using a computer or smartphone. They also suggest setting up a space at MWC where visitors can see the conferences using displays.

The aim of both companies is to demonstrate that virtual trade shows are the perfect alternative for those who cannot attend a trade show in person.
