When we talk about training, we usually imagine a classroom where an expert explains a series of topics. But after reading this post, our imagination might take a turn.
VR technology, increasingly developed and with more application possibilities, is constantly evolving so that we can not only visualize audiovisual content but also interact with it.
Companies like Seat, Acciona, BBVA, Nacex, and Airbus are already using VR to train their employees and explore new ways of working that allow them to be more productive through simulations of everything they do, without any risk. For example, Airbus uses this technology when implementing modifications or updates to their aircraft models, stating that “this technology allows users to perform verification and validation activities in only 25% of the time required by traditional methods.”
Other sectors, such as healthcare, also use these tools for training and practice — for example, surgeons can learn surgical techniques and apply them in a real-world scenario without risk, in a fully controlled environment.
It’s all about being more productive with simulations of everything they do, without any risk.
And it’s not just practical. On a theoretical level, VR technology allows us to enter virtual classrooms where interaction with the instructor is easy and direct, eliminating geographic and time barriers that could otherwise hinder training.
In this way, we can say we are facing a new training method that many companies are already leveraging, and many others will adopt in the near future.
