Do Download-Based Virtual Platforms Really Work?
The world of metaverses is growing rapidly, and we can start by classifying them into two main categories: those that require software downloads and those that don’t. At Walcon, we are familiar with all of them and the functionalities they offer, allowing us to adapt each platform to meet our clients’ specific needs.
On one hand, download-based platforms usually offer greater stability and more detailed graphics. However, they require software installation on a computer, which can be a major entry barrier for many users and companies.
On the other hand, there are platforms that only require accessing a URL to interact with all users and the available content. This way, the computer needs far fewer resources to run, and access is much faster and easier.
At first glance, this difference may seem minor, but after carrying out over 1,000 projects, we’ve observed that events requiring platform downloads experience a significant drop in attendance—leading to less satisfactory results for the client.
That’s why it’s essential to have a deep understanding of all platforms and the client’s specific needs for each event. Only then can the right platform be chosen to ensure a successful outcome.
