Recycling at work level is a very important aspect nowadays, companies are dynamic entities that are evolving and there are skills that are very important and without them it would not be possible to perform the job at 100%.

Skills such as leadership, good communication, good management of daily situations or solving problems that may arise during everyday are considered to be some of the most important skills to apply for some jobs.

If you are an extrovert person, who likes to socialise with people and give your opinion, it may be easier for you to carry out all these actions but, on the other hand, there are many people who are not able to do so. Did you know that these skills can be improved thanks to Virtual Reality?

Thanks to a study conducted by PwC, it has been discovered that the best way to teach people to improve their social skills is through virtual reality.

The purpose of this study is to train workers with an education designed to address inclusive leadership. To do this, a set of managers were chosen, divided into three different groups, and for each group they implemented a type of teaching: face-to-face, online and through virtual reality.

What was the result? The group of workers who had virtual reality training learned faster:

  • The virtual reality training group learned up to 4 times faster than the face-to-face group. What they learned in face-to-face classes for two hours, they did in virtual reality for only 30 minutes;
  • This group gained 275% more confidence to apply the skills learned after the training. Attendees found it much easier to put what they learned into practice and be more confident in virtual reality than face-to-face, as there are difficult circumstances such as having to give negative feedback to an employee which is not an easy task;
  • The virtual reality group was 3.75 times more connected to the content they were learning than the other groups. As it was a new and immersive experience, the students understood and remembered more easily what was explained.

As you can see, new teaching methods have many advantages that can bring great benefits both on a personal and work level, so we must take advantage of all the technological advances available to us to obtain better results.
