16th International Birdwatching Tourism Fair
Overview
The International Birdwatching Tourism Fair (FIO) is a meeting point for professionals and enthusiasts of nature and birdwatching. Year after year, it has become a benchmark in the sector and has helped position Extremadura as a leading destination on the European nature tourism map.
In 2021, due to the health restrictions imposed by the pandemic, FIO decided to trust Walcon and hold its sixteenth edition in a virtual format.
Organized by the Regional Government of Extremadura, FIO is the oldest event of its kind in Spain and the second most important in Europe, after the British Birdfair. The program included activities for both tourism professionals and the general public, such as business meetings, talks, and conferences by national and international experts on tourism, art, nature, and photography, as well as birdwatching routes, workshops, and educational and leisure activities for children and families.
